Our "Home" State

Chipley, Florida

sunny 79 °F

Wow, we started out in Louisiana, drove through Mississippi and Alabama, ended up in Florida!
Welcome to Alabama

Welcome to Alabama

Whew! In actuality, it was only about 275 miles and we are camped (yes, camped) at Falling Waters State Park. We really like the Florida State Parks and don't camp in them often enough. This one was right on the way and a great place to stop, so we did. It's a nice park with only 24 campsites, each with electric and water. We were lucky enough to get a pull through, too.

Since there was a WalMart in Chipley we went out to do some shopping. Imagine our surprise when we returned to a gate at the park. When we checked in no one said anything about there being a code to get back in, so we waited until another camper came along and let us in! All's well. There are walking and biking trails here and we did a little bit of each this afternoon. It felt good to be moving after riding for much of the day. There is a large waterfall and many sinkholes here in the park.
Our weather today was beautiful until we got into Florida, where the clouds arrived. It's been cloudy and windy since then with a high of only 79. It looks like we might get some rain in the next few days.
