Home Sweet Home!

Citrus Ridge, Davenport, Florida

sunny 90 °F

Yes, we are home in Florida. We woke up to a beautiful morning, packed up and headed home. It was only 150 miles and an easy drive. The weather deteriorated a bit and we even had some sprinkles, but nothing bad.
We arrived home and got most things set up. We are leaving a few things to be done next week because we have to go to Raleigh and pick up our Jeep.
It is bittersweet to be back, happy to not be traveling, setting up and taking down so frequently, sad because it was such fun to go to new and different places :) ;(.

We were on the road for 2 days shy of 5 months (152 days) with a total of 16,296 miles on our vehicles. That is 10,565 on the old truck and 5,731 on the new one. Those miles do not include Alaska! During the trip we went into 26 states and 1 Canadian province. We visited between 35 and 40 National Parks, Forests and Monuments. We spent 7 days on the cruise ship, 26 days in hotels, 5 days in Bob and Shirley's camper. We went to 46 different parks or campgrounds, 5 of those we returned to at least once. Our average campground cost was $27.41 with $55 in Weir's Beach, Vancouver Island and Stone Mountain, Georgia being the most expensive. Last night in Manatee Springs State Park was the least expensive at $10.40. We spent $5045 on gas, with the highest being $4.29 in Northern California and the lowest being $2.88 in Dallas.

We had to get home today because I had my first rehearsal for the Candlelight Choir at Epcot. If you are ever here at Christmas time, make sure you go to Epcot to see it.
The weather turned into Florida weather, 90, sunny and humid! The air conditioner hasn't stopped running since we got here ;(.

This is my last post for this trip, but keep your eyes on this site as I will be entertaining you with more adventures. The next one will be our son's wedding at Thanksgiving time. Thanks for following along with us, it's been a true adventure!
